BEST EAST COAST FLORIDA
PRIVATE JET AIRPORTS

DECEMBER 2020

One of the benefits of private jet travel is the ability to get closer to your destination.  Private jets can arrive and depart from over 5000 airports in just North America alone.  While some International destinations will have fewer choices, if you are considering private jet charter for trips to Florida, we have developed an east coast private jet airport list, that only allow general aviation or limited scheduled service.

These airports have less congestion both in the air and on the ground.   We are going to look at a few popular destinations and the benefits they provide.

If you fly to south Florida over the winter months, there are several options all along the“I-95 corridor” from Stuart Florida in the north to Key West in the south.

Stuart Florida (KSWA)

Located just off A1A, this airport will get you close to Jupiter Beach, Jensen Beach, Ocean Breeze and Hutchinson Island.  Just one hour north of Palm Beach, this less congested airport now offers international customs right on the field.  With 3 FBOs, Stuart is a great choice for private jets.

Travel Tip; If you are heading to the Palm Beaches, and the President is “in town” Stuart Airport can also be a better option.  Palm Beach International Airport (KPBI) stops all operations when Air Force One lands or takes off.   This delay can be up to 2 hours, and major road closures also take place in and around the airport.

Palm Beach (KPBI)

If the President is not in town, KPBI, Palm Beach International airport is one of the busiest airports for private jets.  With over 5 FBOs, private jets are “second nature” for these experienced ground operators. If you are going to Lake Worth, North Palm Beach, Singer Island, Boynton Beach, Hypoluxo or Manalapan, KPBI is a great option to consider.  Full-time international customs is on site and the FBOs offer rental cars and limo Services.

Boca Raton (KBCT)

Heading further south along the “I-95” corridor, Boca Raton now offers international customs on site.  This airport will get you close to Delray Beach, Boca West, Highland Beach, Spanish River and Light House point.

Greater Ft. Lauderdale Area (KFXE)

Ft. Lauderdale Executive Airport west of 95 on Commercial Blvd, provides private jets a great option close to Pompano Beach, Lauderdale by the Sea, and the Ft. Lauderdale Beaches.

Travel Tip: If you are traveling to Ft. Lauderdale area and heading to Hollywood Beach or Dania Beach, while Ft. Lauderdale International Airport (KFLL) is busy, it is closer to those destinations and offers international customs and FBOs to help you with your arrival.

Miami – Opa Locka Executive Airport (KOPF)

Just west of 1-95 off of route 916, this executive airport is just minutes from Bal Harbour, Sun Isles Beach, North Miami Beach and Hard Rock Stadium, home of the Miami Dolphins.  Hosting 3 FBO’s and  international customs on site, this airport is dedicated to private jets for quick arrivals and departures.

The Keys. Key West International Airport (KEYW)

At the very end of the island chain offers a full service FBO, rental cars and variety of shuttles to get you on your way.  Please note this airport has limited hours of operation, but does offer call out services for special requests.  Please inquire to learn more.

Ocean Reef (KOCA)

If you are traveling to the Ocean Reef Club for the first time, it is important to note that the airport is private and has several restrictions regarding the time, type and size of aircraft that can land there.  Speak with an experienced private jet operator to learn more.
